My inspiration is a plant bud, which, in spring, unfolds into a leaf.

A compact folded form feeds itself with water and turns into a great spacious form. In autumn, this leaf falls off of the tree, the water evaporates and a small web of fibers curling around the spine is the new form.

Iris van Herpen presented her latest Couture collection, titled ‘Ludi Naturae’ in a collaboration with Peter Gentenaar, January, 2018, at the Galerie de Mineralogie et de Geologie, in Paris.

Peter created a site specific ‘floating installation that blossoms around the garments as the models move’. This was another totally different direction to take Peter’s paper sculptures but was a wonderful combination of organic designed clothing on models sailing through the paper lined catwalk.
