Sarah Leah Chase wrote and coauthored six cookbooks between 1985 and 1995.

Her devoted fans, including noted cookbook author (Barefoot Contessa Cookbooks) and TV celebrity Ina Garten, waited years for Chase’s new collection of recipes.

It was well worth the wait .

Published last year, “New England Open House Cookbook” (Workman Publishing, $24.95) draws from Chase’s memories of growing up in Connecticut and Maine; her experience living and cooking on Cape Cod; and her extensive travels meeting farmers, fishermen and chefs.
