Background

Rakshand was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to Nurul Akhter a businessman and Mafruda Khan, teacher.

Education

He finished his schooling from Scholastica school and later from Mastermind School, Dhaka.

Career

Rakshand was ranked 5th in list of top 10 inspirational Bangladeshis around the world published by British Bangladeshi Power & Inspiration 100 at the British Parliament Commonwealth Room.

JAAGO Foundation

In 2007, he created the JAAGO Foundation. With 17 students he started a free-of-cost-school in the slum area of Rayer Bazar, which now runs classes for nearly 600 students.

In March 2011 JAAGO opened another school in the Karail slum area of Banani, and in September 2011 opened its first online school in Gazipur, Tongi.

In May 2011 JAAGO Foundation launched its volunteer wing, Volunteer for Bangladesh.
